ACU 310 History and Biography as a Genre of Literature

Study of the major Greek and roman writers of history: Herodotus, Thucydides, Xenophon, Polybius, Caesar, Sallust, livy, Tacitus, and ammianus Marcellinus, with supplements from bigoraphers and the minor historians. Special emphasis will be placed on myth and saga, cultural background, and the place of the works in ancient literature.
