CHE 444 Biochemistry I

(Closed to students who have taken CHE 244.) Fall term only. Study of amino acids, protein structure and conformation, kinetic and molecular basis of enzyme action, lipids, and membrane structure, carbohydrates and intermediary metabolism, regulatory mechanisms, elementary thermodynamics in biochemical equilibria, and relationships between structure and function of biological macromolecules.
